Sleeping transactions
Topped up online more than 30 days ago and haven’t tapped on? Your myki Money top up, Auto Top Up or myki Pass is sleeping.
Scan to wake up
Before you can use it, you'll need to scan your myki to wake it up. It’s still on our system, and you don’t need to buy it or set it up again.
You only need to do this if you topped up online.
Wake sleeping myki Money top up, Auto Top Up or myki Pass
- Scan your myki to wake your sleeping top up, Auto Top Up or myki Pass using the PTV App, a myki machine, myki ticket office windows or retailers, or a myki Quick Top Up machine.
- After scanning, your myki Money top up, Auto Top Up or myki Pass will be ready to tap on next time you travel.
- Top up awake, you’re ready to travel.
Scan a myki
Scanning is different from tapping on. You can’t scan on trains, trams, or buses.
In person
Scan your myki at a:
- myki machine (once card details have loaded, remove from machine)
- a staffed station ticket office
- myki retailer
With the PTV App
- In the PTV App, select "myki" from the navigation bar
- Tap 'Scan myki - Check balance'.
- Hold your myki to the device and follow the instructions.
