Tap and go

New ways to tap and go rolling out on long-distance trains

myki and contactless payments to be available on regional trains.

From 16 August, myki and contactless payment options will be progressively available if you're travelling on V/Line trains.

During the switch on

  • If you’re travelling on an activated line, you can now use myki.
  • If you’re a full fare customer, you can also choose to tap and go with a Visa or Mastercard credit or debit card, smartphone or smartwatch.
  • You can still buy V/Line tickets (paper or eTickets) for long-distance trips, and you'll need a V/Line ticket to reserve a seat.
  • If you’re travelling on non-activated lines, V/Line coach services or regional non-myki buses, keep paying for travel as you do now.

To get the best fare, always start and end your journey with the same payment method.

Schedule

From today, 16 August, you can tap on with your Visa or Mastercard credit or debit card, smartphone or smartwatch at every station through to Echuca.

The rest of the regional V/Line network will progressively switch on in the coming weeks, including every station on the:
