Concession fares
If you're eligible for a concession, you can travel for less on Victoria's public transport network.
Most concession fares are 50% of the full fare. If you're eligible, you may get additional benefits, including:
- free weekend travel, if you're a Victorian Senior, Carer or Disability Support Pensioner
- free travel at all times, if you have a Youth myki.
How to pay your concession fare
If you're eligible for a concession, you can now travel using the following:
- myki
- Contactless payment using a credit or debit card, smartphone or smartwatch
- Concession V/Line ticket
To receive a concession fare when travelling with contactless payment, you'll need to link your eligible concession entitlement to your payment card or device.

Youth myki is the only exception. Children aged 5 to 17 years are eligible for free travel and must use a Youth myki to get their free fare. Contactless payment can't be used for Youth myki concession travel.
