Link your concession to contactless payments
To travel on a concession fare, you need to link a contactless payment method to your concession entitlement.
Contactless payments for concession holders
As a concession holder, you can now pay for public transport using a Visa or Mastercard credit or debit card, smartphone or smartwatch.
If you'd like to use contactless payments and travel on a concession fare, you'll need to complete a one-time concession link for each card or device you use.
You can continue using myki if you prefer. Contactless payments are simply another way to travel.
Getting started
Here's how to link your concession to contactless payments:
Step 1
Travel using your contactless card or device
Tap on with your Visa or Mastercard credit or debit card, smartphone or smartwatch.
Step 2
Link your concession online
Visit the contactless portal and follow the prompts to link your concession.

Step 3
We'll adjust your fare
You’re all set to tap and go with a concession fare from the next day you travel.
If you complete steps 1 and 2 on the same day, we'll automatically adjust the full fare charged to a concession fare. Please allow at least 10 business days for the payment to be processed.
If you do not complete steps 1 and 2 on the same day, you'll need to apply for a refund. See our FAQs below for more information.
A few things to know
- Your bank card, smartphone and smartwatch are separate payment methods. You'll need to link your concession to each one separately.
- If you're linking your concession to multiple cards or devices, do this one at a time on separate days, so you're charged the correct fare.
- Tap on and off the same way to get the best fare. Mixing payment methods means your taps won't count towards the same daily fare cap, and you could pay more than you should.
- Your discounted fares, off-peak savings and daily fare cap stay the same, no matter how you pay.
- Always carry your proof of concession and tap on every time you travel.
- If you need help with the linking process, call the Transport Victoria Contact Centre on 1800 800 007, or visit the Public Transport Information Centre at Southern Cross Station.
- Keep using your Concession myki if you prefer. Contactless payments are just another way to pay for your travel.
