Cox Plate

Public transport for the Cox Plate – Saturday 24 October 2026

Public transport for events

We're running extra trams and trains to get passengers to the Cox Plate at Flemington Racecourse! With redevelopment underway at Moonee Valley, the 2026 Cox Plate will be held at Flemington for the very first time. Public transport is your best way to enjoy it, with extra services to help you get to and from the Flemington Racecourse.

  • Gates open: 10:35am
  • First race: 12:25pm
  • Last race: 5:50pm

Please note that the Cox Plate coincides with the Future Drive Australia and The Coven: Tattoo & Arts Expo at the Showgrounds, so passengers can expect higher than normal crowds on public transport, particularly on train services operating via Showgrounds and route 57 trams to the Showgrounds.
