Public transport for National 4x4 Outdoors: Friday to Sunday 21-23 August 2026

The National 4×4 Outdoors Show will be back in August 2026! Over three massive days, thousands of products will be on display from the industry’s leading outdoor adventure and lifestyle brands. Public transport is your best way to enjoy it, with extra services on Saturday and Sunday to help you get to and from the Melbourne Showgrounds.

  • Gates Open: 9:00am
  • Finish time Friday and Saturday: 5:00pm
  • Finish time Sunday: 4:00pm

Metropolitan train

Getting to and from Showgrounds

Friday 21 August – no trains to Showgrounds

Saturday 22 August: 

Trains will operate from Flinders Street (Platform 6) stopping only at Southern Cross (Platform 11/12) and North Melbourne (Platform 3/4) then express to Showgrounds (Platform 1).

  • Trains will run between Flinders Street and Showgrounds from 8:45am to 5:30pm
  • Services will depart every 40 minutes.

Sunday 23 August: 

Trains will operate from Flinders Street (Platform 6) stopping only at Southern Cross (Platform 11/12) and North Melbourne (Platform 3/4) then express to Showgrounds (Platform 1).

  • Trains will run between Flinders Street and Showgrounds from 8:45am to 4:30pm
  • Services will depart every 40 minutes.

Metropolitan tram

Getting to and from Showgrounds

Route 57

  • Trams will operate via Route 57 from Stop 01 Flinders Street / Elizabeth Street and passengers can alight at Stop 32 Sandown Road/ Epsom Road via Flemington Road.

Route 57a

  • No extra trams will run on Friday 21 August.
  • Additional shuttle services will operate from 8:30am to 5:30pm every 30 minutes between Stop 01 Flinders Street / Elizabeth Street and Stop 40 Epsom Road / Maribyrnong Road via Flemington Road.

Metropolitan bus

Getting to and from Showgrounds

The following bus route travels close to Showgrounds: 

  • Route 472 (Williamstown to Moonee Ponds via Footscray)

Passengers can catch buses from Footscray Station and alight at Langs Road/Showgrounds.

Regional train

Getting to Showgrounds

Passengers arriving at North Melbourne and Southern Cross stations are advised to change trains and catch a Showgrounds service.

Passengers are advised to catch any train from Showgrounds and alight at Southern Cross or North Melbourne stations and change to a regional train.
