Metropolitan train

Additional services for the following lines depart after the match:

  • Ringwood, Frankston, Cheltenham, Sandringham

Passengers wanting to alight on services departing Flinders Street are advised to alight on trains departing from Richmond or Jolimont or alternatively board Route 75 Trams. 

Werribee passengers are advised to alight on either Sandringham or Frankston services and change at either Flinders Street or Southern Cross for connecting services to Newport.

Glen Waverley passengers are advised to alight on Frankston line or Ringwood Group trains for their respective bus transfers. 

Sunbury passengers are advised to alight on either Sandringham / Frankston services and change at either Flinders Street (Sandringham trains) or Southern Cross (Frankston trains) to transfer across to Newport shuttles to Footscray. 

Pakenham / Cranbourne passengers are advised to alight on either Sandringham / Frankston services and change at South Yarra for their respective train connection.

  • Trams will operate from Flinders Street / Elizabeth Street (Stop 4) and Stop 7C MCG/John Cain Arena.

Customers can catch the following buses close to the MCG:

  • Normal services departing from Southern Cross Station
