More ways to tap and go

Try contactless payments on the Craigieburn, Upfield, Ballarat and Seymour train lines from 1 June

We’re trialling contactless payments!

If you are a full fare customer taking a single or return journey on the Craigieburn, Upfield, Ballarat or Seymour train lines, including to or from the City Loop, you can now try tap and go.

Keep using your myki if you prefer, or if you are continuing your journey on another train line, tram or bus.

How to try tap and go

Fares

Tap and go fares are the same as myki fares. Depending on your card provider and bank, it may take up to three days for payment to appear in your bank account. You may see a pending amount before your daily fare is calculated and confirmed.

From Monday 1 June until 1 January 2027, public transport in Victoria will be half price for everyone, every day, until the end of the year. This includes concession holders.

To access half-priced travel customers simply tap on as usual. Don’t forget to tap on every time. For more information about half price fares visit transport.vic.gov.au/halfpricetravel.

Authorised Officers

Authorised Officers are there to support passengers as we rollout out tap and go across the myki network. Don't worry if you make a mistake, we're here to help.

When checking contactless payments, they won’t see your banking details or any personal information.

What’s next?

After the trial is completed, we will switch on contactless payments across the myki train network. Tap and go on trams and buses will follow.
