Goulburn Valley Highway and Graham Street, Shepparton

Project update

We’ve completed safety improvements at the intersection of the Goulburn Valley Highway and Graham Street in Shepparton, including:

• installing traffic signals to control the turning movements of vehicles to and from the Goulburn Valley Highway.
• inclusion of a signalised u-turn for vehicles on the Goulburn Valley Highway.
• installing signalised pedestrian crossings on the Goulburn Valley Highway and Graham Street.
• constructing a raised pedestrian crossing over the western service road (Numurkah Road); and
• improving the lighting at the intersection.

This intersection is an important connector from the highway to local health, education and community services north of the Shepparton city centre. Currently, 23,000 vehicles use this intersection daily, including nine per cent heavy vehicles.

These works have improved safety by controlling the turning movements of vehicles at the intersection as well as providing a dedicated safe crossing point for pedestrians.

We are grateful to the community for your patience as we completed these vital safety upgrades.

Other projects in Shepparton

We have also completed works at  the intersection of the Goulburn Valley Highway and Hayes Street and works to switch on the traffic signals at the intersection of the Goulburn Valley Highway (Wyndham Street) near the Shepparton Art Museum are also now complete.

Together, these projects support Shepparton’s continued growth by improving safety, strengthening connections and ensuring the transport network can meet the needs of the community now and into the future.
