Intersection upgrades lighting the way in Shepparton

At the intersection of Graham Street and the Goulburn Valley Highway, the installation of new traffic and pedestrian signals, fully controlled turning lanes, a raised pedestrian crossing and improved street lighting has been completed. 

Over 23,000 vehicles pass through this intersection each day and the upgrades have improved visibility, safety, connection from the highway and connection to the local health precinct. 

At the intersection of Hayes Street and the Goulburn Valley Highway, safety upgrades include new traffic and pedestrian signals, a raised pedestrian safety platform, improved drainage, new signs and line marking. 

These works encourage vehicles to slow down at the intersection and increase visibility and safety for people walking and riding to the Victoria Park Lake precinct. The upgrades form part of Greater Shepparton City Council's Strategic Cycling Corridor, connecting community to key destinations across the city.

Together, these projects support Shepparton’s continued growth by improving safety, strengthening connections to recreational and healthcare precincts and ensuring the transport network can meet the needs of the community now and into the future.

In addition to these projects, works to switch on the traffic signals at the intersection of the Goulburn Valley Highway (Wyndham Street) near the Shepparton Art Museum are also now complete.
