Ticketing privacy policy
We manage your ticketing information in line with Victorian privacy laws.
1. About this policy
The Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) (“we”, “us”, “our”, “Transport Victoria”) oversees Victoria’s integrated transport network, including public transport, roads and active transport.
We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling of personal information (including sensitive information) and health information in accordance with:
- Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014(Vic) (PDP Act) and the Information Privacy Principles (IPPs), and
- Health Records Act 2001(Vic) (HR Act) and the Health Privacy Principles (HPPs), and
- Victorian Protective Data Security Standards(VPDSS), and
- Transport (Compliance and Miscellaneous) Act 1983(Vic) (TCM Act) and regulations and manuals created under this Act, and
- and with other applicable laws.
This policy explains how we handle information when you use and/or interact with:
- the myki ticketing system (myki smartcards, Mobile myki, and contactless payments), and
- our public transport websites and digital platforms.
This is our overarching privacy policy for myki and contactless payments. We may also provide collection notices at the point we collect personal information (for example, in forms, webforms, apps, or call scripts).
