Special event ticketing

Event and conference organisers can provide participants with unlimited travel on public transport in Melbourne during your event. 


How it works

​If you’re organising an event or conference in Melbourne, you can include the cost of public transport in your ticket price.

The daily cost is $3 per person, including those with complimentary event passes. This gives each participant unlimited travel on trains, trams and buses in metropolitan Melbourne during your event. 

Event volunteers are also entitled to special event ticketing. However, we can’t offer special event ticketing just for volunteers.

Eligibility

​For your event to be eligible for special ticketing, it must:

  • ​have at least 500 people attending the event each day  
  • be held within Zones 1 and 2 (approximately 60 km from the city centre)  
  • be accessible by public transport  
  • display approved PTV branding on the passes (we’ll provide the artwork).

Payment

​You need to pay 25 per cent of the total cost of the event ticketing at least 10 days before your event.  

Tell us about your event

​Make sure you tell us about your event if it will affect public transport. If you don’t tell us, you may be fined.
