Barwon South West region
Find out about the maintenance work being done in the Barwon South West region.
We’re busy rebuilding, repairing and resurfacing roads right across the state, including key routes across the Barwon South West Region.
This year's road maintenance program is targeting high-traffic areas and busy freight routes, including some of the most important roads connecting communities in the south west.
We regularly inspect roads and carry out emergency repairs as needed, while more extensive works, such as road rebuilding and rehabilitation, are delivered during the warmer, drier months from September to May to ensure repairs are long-lasting.
Current works
Bayside Road rehabilitation works, North Geelong
Rehabilitation works on Bayside Road, between Madden Avenue and St Georges Road are underway.
Crews are working on the road surface of the 530m stretch of road between 7am and 6 pm, from Monday 13 July 2026. Works are expected to take up to 12 weeks to complete.
During works there will be single lane closures in place, with temporary traffic signals in place to guide traffic through the site, one lane at a time. There will be side road closures, with signed detours and reduced speed limits in place to ensure the safety of crews and road users.
Traffic management crews will be on site to help you move through the area while we complete these important works.
