Shepparton on-road cycling corridor

We’ve made a safer and more connected cycling corridor in Shepparton with safety improvements on Graham, Corio and Monash streets.

Project status:

Complete

These works were delivered as part of the Australian and Victorian Government investment in the Road Safety Program.

Overview

We’ve made Graham, Corio and Monash Streets safer for all road users by:

  • Permanently reducing the speed limit from 60km/h to 40km/h on Graham, Corio and Monash streets.
  • Installing 10 kerb outstands and speed cushions in various locations to slow traffic.
  • Creating a separated bike lane on Corio Street from Nixon Street to Knight Street to provide more room for bike riders to travel safely and reduce the risk of collisions.
  • Installing on-road symbols, refreshed line-marking and highlighting intersections with green pavement to remind motorists they are sharing the road with cyclists.

We have worked closely with Greater Shepparton City Council to deliver these safety improvements.
