Rutherglen Pedestrian Safety Improvements

We’re improving safety on the Murray Valley Highway (Main Street) Rutherglen with a $1.3M investment from the Victorian Government.
Project status:

Planned

Overview

The Rutherglen Pedestrian Safety Improvements Project will deliver pedestrian-focused safety improvements to protect vulnerable road users.

The Victorian Government and Transport Victoria are planning for the delivery of safety infrastructure improvements in Rutherglen including;

  • a pedestrian-operated signalised crossing on the Murray Valley Highway (Main Street)
  • other pedestrian priority crossing options on the Murray Valley Highway (Main Street)
  • traffic calming measures including kerb outstands
  • improved signage and linemarking.

As we continue planning for these works you will see our crews onsite in Rutherglen in the coming weeks conducting survey and service location works. These service location works are a critical step in confirming the location of the safety infrastructure.

There may be some minor traffic disruption while this work is underway. Please allow extra time when travelling in the area.
