Northern Highway, Kilmore maintenance works
We’re repairing sections of the Northern Highway in Kilmore to restore and improve the condition of the road surface and provide a smoother journey for road users.

Overview
Our crews will be working at night between Sunday 21 June and Tuesday 30 June 2026.
To complete these works as efficiently as possible, patching sites will be completed in sections at the following locations:
- three sites near the intersections of Mill Road and Tootle Street (1 night)
- one site near the intersection of Broadhurst Street (1 night)
- three sites near the intersection of Rutledge Street (3 nights)
- seven sites in various locations within the Kilmore CBD, including near Mill Street and Creek Lane (2 nights).
Crews will start at the sites at the southern end of the Northern Highway, near Mill Road, and progress north toward the central business district as each section is complete. The timing of the works may change depending on weather conditions.
Traffic impacts
We will be onsite from Sunday 21 June to Tuesday 30 June 2026. Crews will be working at night between 8pm and 5am to minimise traffic disruptions. Please note dates and times may be subject to change due to weather conditions.
During works lane closures and reduced speeds will be in place as required. Traffic management crews will be onsite to guide people through the area. For everyone’s safety please follow the direction of traffic management.
Some noise, dust and vibration may be experienced around each works site. For the safety of our crews reverse beepers are required on all equipment. Every effort will be made to minimise impacts where possible.
Access to business and residential properties will remain open during works. Please plan ahead and allow extra travel time through the area.

We are also upgrading the intersection of the Northern Highway and Epping- Kilmore Road (Wandong Road) south of Kilmore with construction of a dual-lane roundabout.
