Northern Highway, Kilmore maintenance works

Update - August 2026

Our crews have been completing repairs to sections of the Northern Highway in Kilmore.

Following a pause in these works due to poor weather, crews will return in early August to complete the remaining patching works on the Northern Highway near the intersections of Mill Road, Tootle Street, Broadhurst Street and Rutledge Street. 

To complete these works efficiently and safely, crews will complete patching works near Tootle Street, Broadhurst Street and Rutledge Street during the day, with reduced speed limits in place. 

Works near the intersection of the Northern Highway and Mill Road will be completed at night together with road linemarking and edge sealing at all patches. Lane closures and reduced speed limits will be in place. 

Please look out for changed traffic conditions on site and allow extra travel time during works.

Overview

To complete these works as efficiently as possible, patching sites are being completed in sections at the following locations:

• three sites near the intersections of Mill Road and Tootle Street (1 day)
• one site near the intersection of Broadhurst Street (1 day)
• three sites near the intersection of Rutledge Street (3 day)
• seven sites in various locations within the Kilmore CBD, including near Mill Street and Creek Lane (2 nights) – complete

Linemarking and edge sealing will also be completed for all patches.

Other projects in Kilmore

We are also upgrading the intersection of the Northern Highway and Epping- Kilmore Road (Wandong Road) south of Kilmore with construction of a dual-lane roundabout.
