Narrow seals
We’re delivering targeted upgrades to three key arterial roads in the Wimmera, to improve safety and durability.
Underway
Overview
The project includes widening both sides of the road at each site, installing tactile edge lines and sealing road shoulders.
These upgrades will deliver safer and more reliable travel for locals and heavy vehicles operators who rely on these key regional roads to support industry and connect to communities.
Works will take place on the following roads:
- Horsham–Noradjuha Road, total of 4.4 km, south-west of Horsham
- One site between Wimmera Highway and Three Bridges Road
- Three sites between Darragan Pit Road and Natimuk-Hamilton Road
- Warracknabeal–Birchip Road – total of 8.5km, north-east of Warracknabeal
- Two sites between Sheep Hills-Bangerang Road and Rupanyup Road
- Nhill–Jeparit Road – total of 4.3 km, north-east of Nhill
- Four sites between Salisbury-Woorak Road and Gerang-Glenlea Road
The Australian and Victorian governments have invested more than $8.3 million to the project as part of the Road Safety Program, in partnership with the Transport Accident Commission (TAC). These works aim to reduce crash risk, support freight and improve the resilience of key regional routes.
Disruptions update – June 2026
Start dates for each site will be published on this website when the construction program is confirmed.
Major works are planned to start on Horsham–Noradjuha Road from 8 June and expected to take 12 weeks to complete.
Please note: dates and times are subject to change due to site and weather conditions.
We'll make every effort to minimise disruption to traffic while works are underway. Our work sites may include:
- One-lane, two-way traffic management. Traffic will travel on a single lane through the work site.
- Temporary traffic lights and electronic message boards.
- Reduced speed limits to keep drivers and workers safe.
- Delays of up to five minutes when moving through the site.
- Traffic management crews to help you move through the area while we complete these important works.
Access
While access to properties will be retained, there will be periods of disruption to local roads and traffic flow. The contractor will contact impacted residents should access be disrupted.
