Myers and Coolart Road intersection upgrade, Bittern

We’re upgrading the intersection of Myers and Coolart Road in Bittern to make your journey and the community safer.

As part of the 2023-2026 Road Safety Program, the Victorian and Australian Governments have made a joint $10.05m commitment to upgrade the intersection of Coolart Road and Myers Road in Bittern.

As part of the upgrade, we’ll install:

  • a roundabout to improve safety and traffic flow through the intersection
  • guardrail to reduce the severity of crashes
  • more lighting through the intersection to improve visibility and safety.

These changes follow similar intersection upgrades along Coolart Road in recent years.

The upgraded intersection will help to reduce the risk of crashes and make it safer and easier for the 5,900 road users who travel through the intersection each day.

Major Road Projects Victoria is upgrading the intersection on behalf of the Department of Transport and Planning.
