Project update – June 2026

We’re replacing large overhead signs on the outbound lanes of the Monash Freeway between Toorak Road, Kooyong and Burke Road, Glen Iris.

Two overnight closures will be required to ensure the safety of all road users.

While the outbound lanes of the freeway are closed, we'll take the opportunity to complete other roadside maintenance works including graffiti removal and vegetation trimming.

When to expect us

Works are expected to take place at night between 11pm and 5am on Monday 22 Juneand Tuesday 23 June.

We’re working at night to minimise disruptions to traffic and to keep our crews safe.

Dates are subject to favourable weather conditions and the contractor’s program of works.

What to expect

  • All outbound lanes of the Monash Freeway will be closed between Toorak Road and Burke Road.
  • A signed detour will be in place via Toorak Road and Burke Road, or Toorak Road, Glenferrie Road, Malvern Road and Burke Road.
  • Plan ahead and allow an extra 10 minutes travel time.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while we carry out these important maintenance works.

Other works along the Monash Freeway

During the week commencing 15 June, crews will be working along the outbound lanes of the Monash Freeway in Doveton, Endeavour Hills and Hallam to complete roadside maintenance activities including graffiti removal and vegetation trimming.

Works will take place at night between 11pm and 5am.

You can expect lane closures and reduced speed limits during works to ensure the safety of our crews and all road users.

Please be aware of the changed traffic conditions, follow signage, and slow to the reduced speed limit when driving through the area.
