Vegetation removal

We have designed this project to minimise vegetation removal, however as part of these works 13 large trees have been removed from the roadside, including two at the intersection of Dookie-Violet Town Road and the Midland Highway.

Salvaged timber was relocated to a local park in the City of Greater Shepparton to provide habitat for fauna.

Background

Road safety improvements including the installation of flexible safety barriers have been progressing on the Midland Highway between Shepparton and Benalla since 2019.

These works are designed to reduce road trauma and save lives.

By installing flexible safety barriers along this section of the Midland Highway, we can improve road safety, prevent serious crashes or reduce the severity of crashes when they’re unavoidable.
