Maryborough speed zone changes
We’re making the road network in and around Maryborough safer with speed reductions on key arterial roads.
Project status:
Underway
The speed changes have been determined through a collaborative approach between the Department of Transport and Planning and Central Goldfields Shire Council.
Details
The speed zone changes include reductions on;
- Bendigo-Maryborough Road (Park Road) between Gladstone Street and Tuaggra Street from 60km/h to 50km/h (1500 metres).
- Pyrenees Highway (Inkerman Street) between Napier Street and High Street from 60 km/h to 50 km/h (220 metres).
- Pyrenees Highway (High Street) between Inkerman Street and Lamb Street from 60 km/h to 50 km/h (900 metres).
- Pyrenees Highway (Sutton Road) from approximately 400m east of Margaret Ave to Flagstaff Lane from 100 km/h to 80 km/h (1200 metres).
- Ballarat-Maryborough Road (Derby Road) between Napier Street and Capilano Drive from 70 km/h to 60 km/h (1400 metres).
- Ballarat-Maryborough Road (Derby Road) between Capilano Drive and Centenary Track from 100 km/h to 80 km/h (550 metres).
- Bendigo-Maryborough Road (Maryborough-Dunolly Road) between Drive In Court and south of Morses Lane from 80 km/h to 60 km/h (400 metres).
- Maryborough-St Arnaud Road (Phelan Road) between Collins Court and west of Fink Street from 80 km/h to 60 km/h (450 metres).
The speed zone changes will be implemented late July and will add minimal travel time.
Setting speed limits that are right for the road can help prevent crashes from happening and reduce severity if they do happen.
Please observe changed traffic conditions in these areas when the new speed zones are introduced.
