Inland routes road rehabilitation
We’ve rehabilitated three key roads on South West Victoria’s inland routes network to the Great Ocean Road to provide smoother and more reliable journeys for locals, visitors, and industry.
Complete
The rehabilitation projects rebuilt sections of the following roads:
- A 1.3-kilometre section of Colac-Forrest Road, approximately 5 kilometres east of Colac
- A 1.3-kilometre section of Deans Marsh-Lorne Road, approximately 2 kilometres south of Deans Marsh
- An 800-metre section of Timboon-Colac Road, approximately 2 kilometres north-east of Timboon
At the Colac-Forrest Road site, a traffic island was installed on Trasks Road at the intersection, to improve visibility.
The rehabilitation works were completed in May 2026. Minor works, including site cleanup, will continue with minimal disruptions expected.
The Victorian Government has invested $255 million to the Great Ocean Road and its inland routes. This includes $115 million to upgrade inland routes between the Great Ocean Road and the Princes Highway, which are vital connections for tourism, freight and local communities.
