Goulburn Valley Highway and Labuan Road/Stokes Road, Yarroweyah intersection improvements
Underway
The project is funded as part of the Australian Government Black Spot Program.
Overview
Works at the intersection focus on increasing visibility and awareness at the intersection for the improved safety of all road users.
Works include;
- Removal of a rail embankment crest on Labuan Road. This will provide improved visibility for motorists approaching the Goulburn Valley Highway.
- Installation of a splitter island, new kerbing and rumble strips on Labuan Road. This will help to alert motorists that they are approaching a major intersection.
- Installation of electronic vehicle activated warning signs on the Goulburn Valley Highway, Labuan Road and Stokes Road. These signs are activated by vehicles moving toward the intersection to provide warning to other motorists that a vehicle is approaching.
- Sealing of the Stokes Road leg of the intersection.
- Installation of flag lighting.
Works are expected to begin late-April and take approximately three months to complete, weather permitting.
Traffic disruption
During works lane closures and reduced speeds will be in place on the Goulburn Valley Highway, Labuan Road and Stokes Road as required.
A short-term closure of Stokes Road will be required for sealing works on this leg of the intersection. Please follow detour signs on site.
Please observe changed traffic conditions, plan ahead and allow extra time.
