About the works
We’re making improvements to the drainage network at various locations in Melbourne including:
- Kingston Road and Pine Lane intersection, Heatherton
- Studley Park Road and Howard Street intersection, Kew (completed)
- Woods Point Road between Surman Avenue and Herbert Avenue, East Warburton.
These improvements will help reduce water pooling on the road during heavy rain, protect the road surface from future water damage and improve safety and access for everyone.
All works are expected to be completed by June 2026.
Current works
Woods Point Road, East Warburton
As part of drainage improvement works along Woods Point Road, we will be:
- installing new pipes and pits
- reinstating the gravel shoulder and asphalt
When to expect us
Works are expected to start on Thursday 21 May 2026 and be completed by the end of June, subject to weather conditions and the contractor’s works program. Crews will be working during the day; Mondays to Fridays between 7am and 5.30pm, as well as occasional Saturdays.
What to expect
- Single lane closure on approximately 200m of Woods Point Road between Surman Avenue and Herbert Avenue.
- Traffic controllers will be on-site to guide traffic through the area and maintain two-way traffic flow.
- Temporary 40km/h speed limit in place to keep crews safe.
- Short periods of medium – high levels of noise while crews excavate the road to install new pipes and pits. We’ll work towards minimising noise as much as possible, but please be aware there will be unavoidable high noise levels at times.
- Periods where there may be restricted access to residential properties. We will contact affected property owners and aim to restore access as quickly as possible.
