Projects
Calder Highway-Maiden Gully Road, Maiden Gully intersection upgrade
We’re planning an upgrade of the Calder Highway-Maiden Gully Road intersection in Maiden Gully.
Project status:
Planned
The intersection upgrade will improve traffic flow, boost pedestrian and cyclist connections, support freight productivity and enhance safety for all road users.
Background
The Calder Highway–Maiden Gully Road intersection in Maiden Gully supports significant growth in the area, including new business and residential development.
Works at the intersection will include:
- connecting Carolyn Way to the intersection and converting the road to two-way traffic flow to improve local access
- signalisation of the four-leg intersection, providing connection to Carolyn Way and including installation of pedestrian operated signals to replace the existing school crossing
- establishing shared user paths around the intersection to provide safe connections for pedestrians and cyclists to schools and businesses surrounding the intersection.
Next steps
To deliver the works, some vegetation removal, service relocation works and impacts to car parking will be required.
We will work with impacted stakeholders and provide updates to the community as we progress toward construction.
