Loddon Mallee
Find out about bushfire recovery work being done in the Loddon Mallee region.
Underway
We’re busy delivering important bushfire recovery works across the Loddon Mallee region.
From replacing fire-damaged signs and barriers through to on-road repairs, we’re making sure that the roads can continue to keep drivers and freight on the move across the region.
We’ll provide monthly updates on the repairs happening across the Loddon Mallee region between now and the completion of these vital works.
March 2026
Several kilometres of roads across the region were impacted by January’s fires, with damage centred around the Harcourt area.
This includes sections of the Midland Highway and the Calder Freeway.
Crews have been hard at work completing inspections of roadside trees and other vegetation management, removing any trees and other plants that have been deemed unsafe and trimming others impacted by fires.
Other works currently underway include replacing signs, barriers and roadside guideposts, while pavement repairs have been completed on a section of the Calder Freeway between Blackjack Road and Fogartys Gap Road.
Further on-road and structural repairs will also be delivered over the coming months.
