Bandiana Link Bridge strengthening, Wodonga

Update – October 2025

Works to strengthen the Bandiana Link Bridge on the Hume Freeway at Wodonga are now complete. We thank you for your patience while we undertook these important safety works. 

Works completed

This project has strengthened the Bandiana Link Bridge  to ensure it remains safe and reliable for all road users.

The bridge strengthening works involved the installation of an additional bridge pile on the north-western corner of the structure and construction of an earth wall in front of the existing retaining wall.

Overview

The Bandiana Link Bridge is located on the Hume Freeway, Wodonga, over Bandiana Link Road. The bridge is an important connector between Wodonga and Albury and forms part of the Wodonga bypass which leads to the Victoria and NSW border.

These works are jointly funded with the Australian Government providing $5 million through the Safer Local Roads and Infrastructure Program and the Victorian Government providing $1.5 million towards this $6.5 million project.
