Overview

Major Road Projects Victoria (MRPV) is progressing planning for an upgrade of Ballarat-Carngham Road between Dyson Drive and Wiltshire Lane in the City of Ballarat, to improve safety and cater for population growth.

This detailed planning work is building on previous work undertaken by Transport Victoria. 

Options being explored to upgrade Ballarat-Carngham Road include:

  • adding more lanes
  • improving pedestrian crossings 
  • upgrading intersections
  • building cycling and walking paths.

Next steps

This project is in planning and is not currently funded for construction. The initial planning work is expected to be complete in late 2025.
