Dartmouth Road Culvert Works at Watchingorra Creek
We are repairing and strengthening the culvert under Dartmouth Road at Watchingorra Creek.
Underway
We are repairing and strengthening the culvert under Dartmouth Road at Watchingorra Creek.
The culvert is made up of three large metal pipes that carry water under the road.
These pipes have started to corrode and need to be relined and strengthened.
The project will involve:
- lining the metal pipes with reinforced concrete
- strengthening the culvert entrances and exits with rock protection to help prevent further damage.
This work will help keep Dartmouth Road safe and open for all road users, including heavy vehicles that support local industries.
Dartmouth Road will remain open during the works. Access to Dartmouth township and Dartmouth Dam will be maintained.
Traffic impacts
Crews will be working on Dartmouth Road from September. The project is expected to take about 14 weeks, weather permitting.
The work will be done in stages so water can continue to flow through Watchingorra Creek.
During works, reduced speed limits will be in place and minor delays are expected.
Please allow extra time when travelling through the area and follow the direction of traffic management signs.
