Funding

Funding of $2m has been allocated to the project for the planning and construction of the pedestrian safety improvements.

What’s next

Detailed planning is currently underway as the project moves towards construction. Key activities include:

  • developing the detailed project design and construction approach
  • on-site investigations
  • progressing work to secure planning approvals.

To prepare for construction, a range of site assessments will be undertaken. To ensure these assessments are completed safely, there may be temporary lane and footpath closures and reduced speeds. Traffic disruption will be kept to a minimum, and busy periods will be avoided, where possible.

Initial planning work for the upgrade is expected to be complete in mid-2027. The project design and construction timelines will be known once planning has progressed further.
