What we’re doing
We’re replacing two retaining walls on a path under the bridge on Old Calder Highway in Keilor near Gumm’s Corner.
These maintenance works will deliver two new retaining walls to make the path safer for pedestrians.
We’re working during the day and night from late-October to March 2026, Monday to Friday with the possibility of some weekend works.
What to expect during works
- From early-November to early-December 2026, the path on Old Calder Highway and under the bridge will be closed between Bonfield Street and Keilor Park Drive.
- Bike riders and pedestrians will be diverted to the nearby Maribyrnong River Trail and the M80 Trail while the path on Old Calder Highway is closed. Allow approximately 10 minutes by bike or 45 minutes by foot on the detour route.
- The path under the Old Calder Highway will be closed during works.
- Removal of two large trees that are in poor condition near the bridge and path.
- Moderate noise levels when crews complete tree removal and piling works. We’ll work towards minimising noise as much as possible.
- Some vibrations and dust around the site while we work on the road.
