On Thursday 29 October 2026, the Fed Square entrance to Town Hall Station will open. It is the final of three main entrances passengers can use to enter or exit the station.

New entrance gives passengers more choice

The Fed Square entrance on the corner of Swanston and Flinders streets, gives passengers more options to get to the state-of-the-art station in the heart of the city.

The station is one of the busiest of the Metro Tunnel’s five new underground stations, giving people access to some of Melbourne’s most popular destinations and landmarks including Fed Square, Birrarung Marr, Southbank, St Paul’s Cathedral and Melbourne Town Hall.

New ways to get to events

The Metro Tunnel opens up new ways to get to events. Getting to the major sporting precincts like the MCG and Melbourne and Olympic parks from Town Hall Station is now even easier, with quicker access through to Birrarung Marr from the new exit.
