Changes to Route 536

On 26 July 2026, we’re improving Route 536 by adding more services, extending operating hours and making the route path the same for every trip

To plan your journey:

New Sunday trips 

  • We’re adding Sunday services to Route 536 for the first time.
  • Route 536 will run 44 trips on Sundays.
  • Sunday services will run from 6:41 am to 9:49 pm.
  • Sunday services will come every 40 minutes for most of the day.

Times indicate the departure of the first and last service.

Timetable changes

  • We’re adding 115 new weekly trips to Route 536, including 44 trips on Sundays.
  • Route 536 will run later every day of the week.
  • Weekday and Saturday services will run later to 11 pm.
  • Weekday morning trips will start earlier. You can transfer from Route 536 to a train at Glenroy Station, arriving at Flinders Street Station before 6:30 am.
  • Route 536 will operate on all public holidays for the first time.

Route and stop changes 

  • We’re removing the mid route split on Route 536.
  • Currently, Route 536 splits mid-way through its journey alternating between two route paths in Glenroy.
  • This split will be removed to make the route and timetable simpler and easier to understand.
  • All Route 536 trips will travel along Hilton Street, May Street, Evell Street, Morley Street and Daley Street.
  • Route 536 will no longer travel on parts of Hilton Street and Morely Street. It will be removed from Bourchier Street.
  • Seven stops on Bourchier Street, Morley Street and Daley Street will close.
  • Passengers on the removed section of the route can walk up to 370 meters to alternative bus stops.
  • The second last stop on Route 536 will no longer be serviced by Route 536.
  • The stop is located on Sages Road near Gowrie Station (stop ID 40355).
  • The route will be renamed Route 536 Glenroy Station – Gowrie Station.
