Better bus travel for the Mornington Peninsula

Timetable changes from 5 July 2026

Published date:

12/06/2026

Getting around the Mornington Peninsula is about to get easier, with more direct services, faster trips, plus better train connections.

From 5 July 2026, we’re providing more bus services for the Mornington Peninsula, including a new direct Hastings to Mornington service, longer operating hours, and improved connections to Frankston Station.

Key changes

There will also be new timetables for 31 bus services in the south-east to align with the new Frankston Line train timetable for better train connections, following the Metro Tunnel opening.

Route 786 Rye to St Andrews Beach will be removed to help us improve other bus routes on the peninsula where the demand is higher.

*Please note two stops on Route 784 Frankston to Mornington on Racecourse Road near Watt Road in Mornington (stop IDs 29232 and 29233) may not be available when services begin 5 July 2026. These stops will be open from 19 July 2026. Until then, passengers can use nearby stops 29234 and 29235 on Racecourse Road to the south or stops 29230 and 29231 on Racecourse Road to the north.
