All bushfire-affected roads now re-opened

All arterial roads affected by the January bushfires have now re-opened.

All state-managed roads affected by the January bushfires are now open.

Our crews have been busy travelling every kilometre of these roads to carry out vital inspections and working alongside emergency services and independent arborists to make sure they're safe to use.

We've already removed large amounts of debris from roads and roadsides and we're currently replacing guideposts and repainting road markings.

We're also putting together plans to repair any major damage to these roads or to other transport infrastructure.

In some instances, we've reduced speeds on these roads due to damaged signs, linemarking, barriers or other safety infrastructure.

Normal speeds will be reinstated once repairs to this infrastructure are complete.

These works will be funded by the $81.8 million package allocated to repairing and reinstating our transport network in the wake of the recent fires.

This package is jointly funded by the Australian and Victorian Governments under the Commonwealth‑State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA).

A high number of roads managed by local councils remain closed.
