Jacka Boulevard/Fitzroy Street (Stop 135)

Common Ground explores the meeting point between land and sea that defines St Kilda. The artwork draws directly from the site's surrounding topography and the contours of Port Phillip Bay, layering these mapped lines into an abstract landscape. Colour, movement and overlapping geography reflect a place continually shaped by water, land and the people who move between them.

About the Artist

Buff Diss is a Victorian artist who grew up in nearby Middle Park, with St Kilda's foreshore, streets and public spaces forming part of everyday life. Emerging from Melbourne's street art culture in the late 1990s, his practice has evolved from pioneering masking-tape installations to large-scale abstract murals. His current work uses mapping, landscape data and colour to explore personal and geographic connections to place.
