Hail buses in real time with the Hailo app - Ventura trial now live
Catching a Ventura bus just got simpler, safer and more confident — especially if you use a wheelchair, travel with a pram, have low vision, or just want to make sure your bus stops for you.
The free Hailo app lets you send a digital signal to the driver before the bus arrives — so they know you’re waiting and what support you might need (like ramp deployment or extra time to board). It’s designed for everyone and built with accessibility at its heart.

How Hailo helps you
- Hail your bus in real time — no waving needed
- Tell the driver ahead of time if you need help (e.g., ramp, extra boarding time)
- See live bus locations, distance from your stop, and estimated arrival time –
- Get alerts when your bus is on the way — and when your stop is next
- Plan your trip with confidence, knowing your bus will see you
Where Hailo works
Hailo is available on all Ventura-operated bus routes across Melbourne, including suburbs like Frankston, Dandenong, Cranbourne and beyond.
**Note:** Route 900 isn’t included yet — it’s run by several operators, so we’re working to expand coverage in future.
You can view the full list of supported routes on the Ventura website or check live services in the app.
Get started in 4 easy steps
- Download Hailo for free (no cost, no subscription)
- Open the app, find your stop and nearby Ventura buses
- Select your stop and hail — choose any access needs you’d like the driver to know
- Wait confidently — the driver gets a clear visual and sound alert before your stop
Tip: During this trial, please still press the stop button as normal — it’s your backup, and helps keep things running smoothly.
