Greater Melbourne
Brunswick Tram Depot upgrade
We're upgrading the Brunswick Tram Depot as we add larger trams and improve how the network operates.
As part of our final upgrade works at the Brunswick Tram Depot, we’ve:
- Installed a pair of level-access tram stops on Moreland Road, between Cameron Street and Sydney Road, to improve accessibility and connectivity.
- Built a new tram depot exit onto Sydney Road to minimise delays to services in the morning peak and reduce congestion on Moreland Road.
This marks a major milestone for the Brunswick Tram Depot Upgrade, which will boost depot capacity, improve operational efficiency and deliver long-term benefits for passengers across Melbourne’s tram network.
Works to install tracks for a new tram terminus and expanded depot are still underway on Cameron Street.
Cameron Street will be closed between Peveril and Prowse streets until early 2027.
The Upfield shared use path will also remain closed between Moreland Road and Tinning Street.
