Heavy vehicle maps terms and conditions

View terms and conditions for use of the Victorian heavy vehicle access maps and height clearance map. 


The heavy vehicle network maps are a visual guide to showing heavy vehicle access conditions and minimum clearance of structures on Victoria’s declared road network.

Changes after the information has been captured may impact map accuracy. We do our best to keep maps up to date, but cannot guarantee that they are accurate, current or complete, or suitable for your needs.  

You must comply with all sign-posted height clearances. These signs override information in the map if they differ. Contact us if you need to authoritative information about height clearances.

To the extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for any loss (including loss from computer viruses, or consequential damage) caused by use of the maps.

We own the copyright in the maps, and in any information provided by them. The maps are provided for personal use. You may not:

  • sell or rebrand information obtained from a map without our written permission
  • represent that the information is from any other source.

You may reproduce, use, publish or adapt this material, if:  

  • you acknowledge the Department of Transport and Planning as the copyright owner
  • you do not modify the material for use in any way
  • there are no specific overriding copyright conditions relating to the material
  • you do not charge anyone for use of the material.
  • you gain the permission of any third party that holds copyright in material presented on this website.

The maps are currently free to use, but we may make it fee-paying in the future and charge a fee from that time.

You may link to the maps with our written permission (which we may withhold). If displaying the map, you must show it in full screen format. It must not include, or be framed by, advertising or any other information.

These terms and conditions are governed by the law of Victoria.
