Card payment fees
This fee helps us recover the costs we’re charged by the banks.
A merchant fee is applied to all VISA and MasterCard transactions so applying a small card payment fee helps us with the costs of providing this payment service.
This fee also applies to all 'contactless' or 'tap and go' payment methods including payWave or paypass which are VISA or MasterCard branded.

Can I avoid this fee?
As most debit cards are now branded with Visa or Mastercard you will be charged a fee even if you use the EFTPOS function. This charge is because the banks, Visa and Mastercard charge us to process these transactions.
You can avoid a fee by paying in cash or money order at a VicRoads customer service centre or BPay via online banking.
