Grampians region

Some of the most important roads for connecting communities in the Grampians region have been included in the 2024-25 road maintenance program.

Maintenance is vital for keeping the Victorian road network running smoothly and ensuring road users can travel safely and efficiently.

Our maintenance program focuses on strengthening roads across the network, with recent efforts directed toward roads impacted by floods and extreme rainfall.

As we move into this year’s maintenance season, the focus will shift to resurfacing and rebuilding roads across the network. This will involve replacing multiple layers of road surfaces to enhance durability and safety for all road users.

Horsham-Kalkee Road rehabilitation works, Murra Warra

Rehabilitation works on Horsham-Kalkee Road in Murra Warra between Dimboola-Minyip and Old Minyip Road, are underway.

Crews are working on the road surface of the 2km stretch of road in Horsham Rural City between 7am and 6 pm, from Monday 3 March, 2025 to May 2025.

During works, single lane closures are in place, with reduced speed limits to ensure the safety of crews and road users.

Horsham-Kalkee Road rehabilitation works, Kalkee

Rehabilitation works on Horsham-Kalkee Road in Kalkee between Ladlows Road and Wail-Dooen Road, are underway.

Crews are working on the road surface of the 310m stretch of road in Horsham Rural City between 7am and 6 pm, from Monday 3 March, 2025 to May 2025.

During works, single lane closures are in place, with reduced speed limits to ensure the safety of crews and road users.

Beaufort-Lexton Road rehabilitation works, Lexton

Rehabilitation works on Beaufort-Lexton Road in Lexton between Lexton-Chute Road and Jack Smith Lane, are underway.

Crews are working on the road surface of the 1.6km stretch of road in Pyrenees Shire between 7am and 6 pm, from Monday 3 February, 2025 to April 2025.

During works, single lane closures are in place, with reduced speed limits to ensure the safety of crews and road users.

Midland Highway rehabilitation works, Blampied

Rehabilitation works on the Midland Highway in Blampied, near Blampied-Mollongghip Road, are underway.

Crews are working on the road surface of the 800m stretch of highway in Hepburn Shire between 7am and 6 pm, from Monday 20 January, 2025 to April 2025.

During works, single lane closures are in place, with reduced speed limits to ensure the safety of crews and road users.

Midland Highway rehabilitation works, Elaine

Rehabilitation works on the Midland Highway in Elaine, near Woolshed Road, are underway.

Crews are working on the road surface of the 1.7km stretch of highway in Moorabool Shire between 7am and 6 pm, from Monday 13 January, 2025 to April 2025.

During works, single lane closures are in place, with reduced speed limits to ensure the safety of crews and road users.

Maintenance program 2024-25

Rehabilitation works on the following roads in the Grampians region will be undertaken between now and mid-2025:

• Bacchus Marsh-Gisborne Road, between Bennet Street and Clifton Drive, Bacchus Marsh (875m) Moorabool Shire.

Resurfacing work will also be carried out on many roads across the Grampians region as part of the 2024-25 Victorian road maintenance program.

Rehabilitation works on the following roads in the Grampians region are complete:

• Wimmera Highway, near Nhill-Harrow Road at Miga Lake (800m) in West Wimmera Shire.
• Sunraysia Highway, near Gama Sea Lake Road at Lascelles (906m) in Yarriambiack Shire.
• Western Highway, 
  • near Olinda Street at Beaufort (500m) in Pyrenees Shire.
  • near Mallee Dam Road at Lawloit (1km) in West Wimmera Shire. 
  • between Spring Hill Creek and Trawalla Road at Trawalla (2.7km) in in Pyrenees Shire
