Safer speeds and new electronic speed limit signs in Gembrook
We’ve improved safety for road users and pedestrians along Main Street in Gembrook.
Complete
Project update - November 2024
On 22 March 2024, we introduced a safer 50km/h speed limit on Main Street in Gembrook between Gembrook-Launching Place Road and Bromby Street.
To remind drivers of the low-speed environment near Gembrook Primary School, we’ve installed four electronic speed limit signs between Bromby Street and Banks-Smith Drive.
The electronic signs display the 40km/h school speed limit between school drop off (8am – 9:30am) and pick up times (2:30pm – 4pm). Outside those times, the electronic signs switch off and the 50km/h speed limit applies.
We thank the community for their patience while we completed these important safety improvements.
