Mornington-Flinders Road maintenance

What we’re doing

We’re delivering vital maintenance works on Mornington-Flinders Road, between Whitehall Road and Boyds Road in Flinders.

These works will involve replacing layers of the road, asphalt resurfacing and line marking to restore the condition of the road surface.

This work is being delivered as part of the Victorian Government’s $964 million investment in the Victorian 2024-25 road maintenance program.

When to expect us

Works are expected to take place between late-March and May 2025 and take five weeks to complete.

We’ll be working at night at 7pm to 6am to minimise disruption to traffic during peak hours and to keep our crews safe. No works will take place on Friday nights, Saturday nights and public holidays.

Please note that dates and times are subject to change due to weather conditions and the contractor’s program of works.

What to expect during works

• Road closures on Mornington-Flinders Road, between Whitehall Road and Boyds Road with signed detours in place. Please allow extra travel time during works.
• All traffic lanes on Mornington-Flinders Road will reopen with reduce speeds in place after work hours. Please observe traffic management signs and drive safely as sections of the road will be unsealed.
• Periods of high noise levels, vibrations, and dust – we’ll work to minimise these impacts as much as possible.
• Crews use modern equipment to keep noise to a minimum. However, the works and machinery will unavoidably create some noise and light. For the safety of road users and workers on site, reversing beepers are required on all machinery.
• Periods where driveway access will be restricted within the work area. We will contact affected property owners about temporary driveway access restrictions and work to maintain access.
• A reduced speed limit during works to ensure the safety of crews and all road users.
