McDonalds Road, South Morang maintenance works
Planned
What we’re doing
We’re delivering vital maintenance works on approximately 650 metres of McDonalds Road, between Bush Boulevard and Murdoch Road, in South Morang.
The works will involve constructing new road shoulders, replacing layers of the road, asphalt resurfacing and line marking to restore the condition of the road surface.
When to expect us
Works are expected to take place between March and May 2025 for three weeks. These dates are subject to the contractor’s program of works and favourable weather conditions.
Works will take place at night, Sundays to Thursdays. No works will take place on Friday and Saturday nights. We’re working at night to minimise disruptions to traffic and to keep our crews safe.
We’ll notify the community before works begin.
What to expect during works
- A road closure on McDonalds Road between Bush Boulevard and Murdoch Road, with a signed detour in place.
- Medium to high noise levels when crews remove the surface layer of the road. We’ll complete the nosiest works in the earlier part of the night, where possible. Low to medium levels of noise are expected during all other works.
- Crews use modern equipment to keep noise to a minimum. However, the works will unavoidably emit some noise and light. For the safety of road users and workers on site, reversing beepers are required on all machinery.
- Some vibrations and dust around the site while we work on the road.
- No parking during works on this section of McDonalds Road. We will contact affected property owners and work to maintain access.
- A reduced speed limit during works to ensure the safety of crews and all road users.
This work is being delivered as part of the Victorian Government’s $964 million investment in the Victorian 2024-25 road maintenance program.
