Road closures during the St Kilda Festival: Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 February 2025

There are a number of events with road closures this weekend impacting drivers travelling in and around the St Kilda area.

Saturday 15 February

Lower Esplanade will be closed between Jacka Boulevard and Cavell Street from 10 am to 6 pm on Saturday.

Sunday 16 February

Full road closures (no access to any traffic):

  • Fitzroy Street, between Grey Street (including the Grey/ Canterbury intersection) and The Esplanade (including the Acland Street intersection)
  • The Esplanade, between Fitzroy and Carlisle streets
  • Lower Esplanade, between Jacka Boulevard and Cavell Street
  • Acland Street, between Carlisle and Belford streets
  • Cavell Street, between the Esplanade and Jacka Boulevard
  • Shakespeare Grove, between Acland and Chaucer streets
  • Jacka Boulevard, between Acland and Cavell streets
  • Pollington Street, adjacent to the Espy Hotel (will be closed until 11 am Monday 17 February)
  • Jackson Street, adjacent to The Victorian Pride Centre

Partial road closures:

  • Lakeside Drive
  • Carlisle Street, between Barkly and Acland Streets
  • Grey Street, between Fitzroy and Barkly streets and all side streets off Grey Street
  • Acland Street, between Jackson and Carlisle streets and all side streets off Acland Street
  • Princes Street, between Fitzroy and Barkly streets and all side streets off Princes Street
  • Fitzroy Street, between St Kilda Road and Grey Street
  • Pier Road
  • Beaconsfield Parade, between Cowderoy and Acland streets
  • Marine Parade, between Cavell and Blessington streets

Carman’s Fun Run

Carman’s Fun Run will be held on Sunday 16 February from 6am to 1pm. There are additional road closures in the St Kilda area to accommodate participants in the 21km, 10km and 5km races.

  • Beach Road between Hampton Street, Sandringham and Dendy Street closed from 4:30am to 11am.
  • St Kilda Steet between Head Street and Grosvenor Street closed from 4:30am to 11am.
  • Brighton Esplanade between Grosvenor Street and South Road closed from 4:30am to 11am.
  • Beach Road between South Road and Linacre Road closed from 4:30am to 11am.
