Apply to be a licensed vehicle tester

Get approved to conduct roadworthy checks as a licensed vehicle tester (LVT).

Read the Licensed Vehicle Testers Licence Conditions before beginning your application.

Don’t buy any automotive workshop equipment until we’ve granted your pre-approval and you’ve successfully completed your accredited training.

You must apply for a licence even if you purchased an existing LVT workshop. The previous owner’s licence isn't transferable.
