More services for western Victoria

Western Victorians' bus and local transport services have received a big boost.

A passenger waits on a bus in western Victoria.

A second daily return coach service will run between Halls Gap and Stawell early next year - leaving mid-morning and returning mid-afternoon.

The Horsham town bus network will also be upgraded.

Horsham, Kaniva and Edenhope residents will also benefit from the extension of the Wimmera community transport pilot.

The volunteer-run organisation will expand its service with the purchase of a new, accessible vehicle.

The Centre for Participation will contribute $55,000 towards the service.

The pilot is part of the Flexible Local Transport Solutions program, which provides financial support to help seed small-scale initiatives across regional Victoria that address transport disadvantage, integrate with other local transport options and improve transport access.

Community consultation and a comprehensive review of Stawell and Horsham town bus networks will take place in 2019.
