Easter disruptions transcript

[voiceover]

Here’s what you need to know over the Easter break to get around town.

Metro Tunnel works continue on the Cranborne, Pakenham and Frankston lines.

From Good Friday, buses replace trains on the Cranbourne and Pakenham lines from Flinders Street to Westall.

On the Frankston line, buses replace trains between Flinders Street and Moorabbin, while on the Sandringham line, buses replace trains for the whole journey from Friday.

They will run again between 12.30pm and 7.30pm on Easter Monday for the blockbuster at the MCG.

On the regional lines, upgrade works continue on the Geelong and Warrnambool lines until Sunday, while the Gippsland line is expected to return on Wednesday.

Don’t forget to plan ahead as there will be some changes to the timetable on the public holidays.

As the long weekend begins, we’re putting a hold on road works starting Thursday afternoon.

In some areas, we’re still midway through major road upgrades so you may experience reduced speeds through those construction zones.

If you’re headed away on a road trip, take plenty of breaks, don’t drive when you’d normally be asleep and be sure to check that your car is in safe and roadworthy condition.

SES Driver Reviver sites will be set up across the state, so take advantage of the free cuppa and a biscuit.

The Monash Freeway, Dandenong Road, Nepean Highway and Batman Avenue will be busier than normal due to all the rail works.

Be sure to plan ahead to avoid delays.

Thanks for your patience while we get on with these important works.
