April disruptions update transcript

[voiceover]

With work continuing across the transport network in April, here’s what you need to know this weekend to get around town to all the sporting events and the comedy festival.

Thanks for your patience while we continue to replace trains this week for Metro Tunnel works between Flinders Street and Caulfield.

This will change on the weekend with buses between Flinders Street and Westall on the Cranbourne Pakenham lines and between Flinders Street and Moorabbin on the Frankston line.

There’s also weekend works on the Mernda line for level crossings removals.

On the Sandringham line for the Metro Tunnel and signalling works on the Glen Waverley line.

During this time, there will be a mixture of express and semi express buses.

The free tram zone has been extended to the MCG until round five.

On the regional network, coaches are still replacing regional trains on the Warrnambool and Gippsland lines.

With extra rail replacement buses on the road, delays are likely on Dandenong Road through Caulfield.

Also, the Nepean Highway as you come through Brighton and St Kilda and at the city exit at the Monash Freeway.

Now, if these roads are part of your normal journey, consider leaving earlier or maybe a little later.

Flinders Street remains closed to westbound traffic between Batman Avenue and Russell Street.

The Williamstown Road exit ramp from the West Gate Freeway will be closed again this weekend for West Gate Tunnel works.

Don’t forget to plan ahead to avoid long delays.
