New pedestrian traffic lights on Hall Road near Rowellyn Avenue
We’re installing a pedestrian crossing controlled by traffic lights on Hall Road near Rowellyn Avenue to make it safer and easier for pedestrians to cross Hall Road.
Planned
Service investigation works
We’ve heard from the local community that it is difficult for pedestrians, including school children, to safely cross Hall Road at various times of the day.
As part of our development of these improvements, we’re investigating the utility services at the intersection of Hall Road and Rowellyn Avenue.
Service investigation works are expected to take place from late-May to early-June. Crews will work over two days between 7am and 5pm. Please note, these dates and times are subject to favourable weather conditions and the contractor’s program of works.
What to expect during service investigation works
- Lane closures on Hall Road in both directions. Please follow the instructions of traffic management controllers on-site to keep you and crews safe.
- Access to driveways will be maintained. If works disrupt access to driveways, traffic management controllers will help residents in and out of properties.
- Short periods of low to medium noise levels – we’ll work towards minimising noise as much as possible. Crews use modern equipment to reduce noise, however the works will unavoidably emit some noise and light.
- Some vibrations and dust around the work site.
- A reduced speed limit around the work site.
What's next
We’ll be back in touch with more information about the project following service investigation works.
The final design will be chosen based on the data analysed from our investigations and the design that will deliver the best outcome for pedestrian safety at the intersection of Hall Road and Rowellyn Avenue.
